It’s starting to be a little anachronistic for many people, but if you can pull it off a locking attache case or briefcase is inconspicuous, often has a combination lock (so no keys to manage), and is small and easy to move around.
Another option is a locking 2-drawer file cabinet. That will also help to keep your personal papers away from prying eyes.
