  1. Hi Ruby!

Firstly, I just wanted to say a huge thanks for everything you do – you’re advice and wisdom in the area of pegging is fantastic and I really enjoy the humour you inject into your podcasts too!

You mentioned lubes at several points during your most recent podcasts, and this has prompted me to message you. Do you have any advice on lubes that are hypo-allergenic or at least not likely to have any negative effects on those who are quite sensitive to the ingredients of lubes? I have used several, most recently ID Glide Water Based lube (which claims to be hypoallergenic) and while my play is fine, it seems to upset my anal area after play and I feel very sensitive. I remember a podcast a loooooong time ago that concerned lubes, but don’t recall any advice on lubes that won’t irritate.

    Many thanks!

    1. Thanks for your kind words!
Sliquid Silk is my go to for the best pegging lube. It is a hybrid lube, with just 12% silicone, so it won’t harm silicone toys.

Sliquid does state that their products are formulated to be hypoallergenic – here a bit from their FAQs:
Why are Sliquid products glycerin / glycol / glycerol free?
Glycerin, glycol, and glycerol are all humectants, meaning they draw in moisture, both from the air and from anything they come into contact with. This makes them very slippery, which is why you find them in many lubricants. However, they are also sugar derivatives, and may contribute to yeast infections and UTI’s, especially in those already prone to them. Glycerin is a byproduct of the soap making process, which boils down animal and vegetable fats, leaving us with several very undesirable byproducts, including glycerin.

If you have an allergy to silicone (rare, but possible) then you can use the Sliquid Sassy, which is only water based. I don’t care for the Sassy as much as the Silk because you have to use more; it doesn’t last as long. It does reactivate with a touch of water, though.

Make sure you don’t get the Organic Silk. It contains Aloe and dries out and gets sticky – bad for pegging!

If you react to the Silk – I’d try organic coconut oil?
