Sad news in my world. My brother-in-law passed away a few days ago. Quite unexpectedly. I am with my sister, helping her with all the things that need doing when someone leaves this life. Paperwork, phone calls, emotional support, sorting through his belongings. They traveled the world together and shared so much, for so many years.
We went out last night to the restaurant that was their favorite, and toasted our margaritas to him, his endless enthusiasm, frequent generosity and irrepressible sociability. He will be missed.
Amongst the many lists of details to take care of, my sister is making another list. She titled it, 'My New Life'.
Every day might be someone's last. Nothing is certain, even that you will wake up each morning to the smiles and laughter of your loved ones. Tell them how you feel. Say the words. Things can change so quickly that it can take your breath away.

Dear Ruby,
So sorry to hear of your tragic loss.
How right you are. If you love someone tell them. They do need to know, and for the record you are also very much loved for the work you do by so many people. Please remember this when you feel low sometimes.
Wishing you good health and better times for you and your sister at this very sad time.
Love
Peter
