My Movember Motivation
Every year in November, I try and encourage all you lovely readers of this blog and listeners of my podcast to help me raise money for the Movember Foundation. My motivation? I am a fervent fan of prostates. Movember does excellent work in trying to raise awareness of testicular cancer and prostate cancer. That was my initial motivation 7 years ago.
Since then, their work has expanded into areas that I cannot help but happily celebrate, and my support of Movember has done nothing but deepen!
It's one thing to raise awareness, but another thing entirely to get men to actually go to the doctor. In general, men don't tend to take care of their health. From my viewpoint, it seems like over the years, the Movember Foundation had some important realizations. To be more successful in getting men to take care of their health, addressing the unhealthy definitions of masculinity was a priority. They now have a dedicated focus on men's mental health and suicide prevention.
Since inception in 2024, the Movember Foundation has raised $837 million and funded over 1,200 projects in more than 20 countries.
My Movember Goals
Previously I raised over $1K 2 years in a row! My promise to reward you with photos of my bodacious tatas was fulfilled! Last year we came so close - $828!
With this in mind, I'm happy to make that offer again this year. (Having gained a little weight, they are a tad more plump and enticing!)
I have also set various goals in the past for my own pledges of exercise and weight loss. So my personal goal this year is to walk/elliptical/bike 60 miles for the 60 men we lose to suicide each hour of every day in this world.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the base of my strap-on for anything you can contribute!
