Tonight I went to a meetup of a bunch of sex geeks and nerds in a well-appointed but rather loud restaurant/bar in Los Angeles with excellent martinis.
This happens every month in So Cal but this was my first time attending. I reconnected with folks from the CatalystCon convention last September (where I found my tribe!) and met new friends who are passionate about sex, teach about it, have jobs relating to helping people stay safe when having sex, bloggers, podcasters and all kinds of amazing people.
Right about when the bar got way too loud it was time for most of us to walk about a block away to a comic store. There we attended a live taping of the podcast "Sex Nerd Sandra". What fun! Sandra Daugherty and (very funny) comedian Dave Ross were talking about being single and more specifically internet dating and speed dating. Their weekly podcast is going on my phone tomorrow. Great stuff. Doing wonderful things to encourage a more sex-positive world.
