Portland. He said he'd fly me up there...and he did. After a year and a half of talking and cursing the distance between us that prevented a mutual exploration of our very mutual kinks...he actually did it.
Anyone who has ever done anything like this knows how rife with potential disaster and pleasure a situation like this is. Never having met in person. Wondering if sufficient chemistry will be there...or not. It is indeed risky. But sometimes adventure calls and the risk feels worth it. And what is life without risk, after all?
The holding of breath inside, the hoping and mental crossing of fingers during the journey there... it can feel anticipatory instead of fearful. I make a point not to walk through life in fear. Anticipation can be exciting, if you allow it.
What did Portland end up offering? A fun, sharp intellectual connection, laughter, good conversation and more ease than we had any right to expect, having just met. He is sweet. His smile transforms his face. He has a nice touch.
And...the mutual exploration of our kinks was pretty damn awesome.
Portland was an adventure well worth taking.
Sometimes, taking the risk results in a lovely payoff.
I could still be sitting here at my computer, wondering what would have happened if I'd done the sensible thing and not ventured that far from home just for fun, to spend 5 days with a man I'd never met in person.
Instead, I'm walking around with a big smile on my face.
So glad I decided to take the risk.
Thanks, M.

Yay!
I do like to hear about the happy things, and after a year and a half, you waited long enough!!
So glad it went well!

I’m glad it went well, too. You and I have had our adventures along these lines, Ferns. I think you are overdue for one like I just had!
